What is the Political Courage Test?

Georgia Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I do not refer to myself as pro-life. I use the term I 'value life' instead. The definitions of some terms like pro this or pro that have become muddled in today's political environments.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Balancing the budget with a $ 19 T debt growing every day is too large a goal to tackle at once, and some could use 'balancing the budget' to justify huge, more economy killing tax increases on today's producers. Instead we should implement the Penny Plan, zero based budgeting and have a national discussion on a FairTax on consumption which would replace the IRS and the income tax as we now know it.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Fortunately for voters there are many sources to make it easy to 'follow the money' of a candidate.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
No Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
I would like to see communities follow local law enforcement and client advocate recommendations. We have courts and judges and juries for a reason. Let them do their jobs. They have a unique interest in keeping their communities safe and should do so unless proven corrupt.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
In having to answer yes or no, I could not assume the federal spending in the first question above would actually promote economic growth, it often does not. Government confiscating less money in taxes leaves producers more money to spend eating out, traveling, having grass cut, dry cleaners, etc, that then goes to pay these product and service providers, who in turn purchase their own products and services, and the cycle continues for our nation's betterment.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
I support closing the Dept of Education.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
Energy Independence should be a national security priority.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
A properly trained citizenry who can defend themselves from trouble results in less trouble. There are so many self defense products and classes available, that within the law, thinking people can chose for themselves.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
You cannot keep your heathcare plan. You cannot keep your doctor. You will not see a $ 2500 reduction in your family's insurance cost. A system built on lies only survives in the world of government. It was designed to destroy private health insurance, Obama's true goal all along.
No Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I believe unchecked illegal immigration is a national security issue for our nation. Our border must be secure. In some cases, such as farms, I support a mobile visa program or mobile immigration check point to handle determining status of non-citizens.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
What is there to support? Law is law.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
As opposed to having them 'in a lock box' that Congress doesn't take and spend? There is no lock box.

I support the FairTax. A consumption tax along with a pre-pate per citizen that would reimburse every citizen for the consumption tax on necessary items. Taxing income results in an under the table, cash economy. The FairTax implementation would require the 16th amendment be repealed so politicians could not add a consumption tax to the current income tax scheme as well as eliminate many of the taxes you listed above. The tax rates and IRS now are pawns of the prevailing political rulers, i.e. Lois Lerner targeting Conservative Groups to delay granting them tax exempt status. Shameful.
Border Security - enforce the laws on the books, make our nation safe Term Limits - good enough for President, good enough for Congress and Senate FairTax - see above
